the Bear SG nah.. i've decided to BS another way.. lunch in a while anyway.. the guys are going to assemble at what we term: the bridge of mudskippers
the Bear SG yeah.. they're hilarious the drain near my office has a lot of mudskippers.. and other kinds of fish.. and a few resident birds which try to catch the fish
Wanda SG Speaking of fish...i was told that those frozen dory fish so common in the supermarts are actually catfish from Vietnam. I wonder...
elindra SG The drain near my office used to have them too and all kinds of fish But after they did the construction of the stadium etc there is no more fish
fudgester SG HOLEEEEY SHEEEEEET!!!! One of those buggers has just tossed in 4586 points!!!!! This bugger's a fellow final year student! Arrrgh... I have just 4350 points to play with!
Wanda SG Bating?? And Dory is another fish?? So sutchi is what they served as Dory fish in western food outlets, right, e.g. grilled fish at Han's?

fudgester SG That's the problem.... As a final-year student, my choices have become increasingly limited. I've already cleared quite a lot of modules, and many other modules have already been precluded by my earlier modules. And to make matters worse, quite a lot of the modules are no longer available for bidding... apparently, either the lecturers do not wish to take any more students, or they just couldn't be bothered to activate their modules for this round.
elindra SG Ok let me explain The REAL Dory fish fillet is expensive It is from the John Dory fish, fished from the deep oceans and it looks like this: Now the ones in the supermarket called: Cream Dory (and they add the word Sutchi to it) is what we call Bating fish locally. The common name is Iridecent Shark aka Bating, and the scientific name is Pangasius sutchi It is a river fish and it looks like this:
Wanda SG Is this a common problem for students in your situation? Maybe you should appeal for special consideration. Anyway, good luck...hope it turns out well for you.
elindra SG btw I have eaten the real John Dory in New Zealand before And it taste very different from the sutchi fillets "Cream Dory" in our supermarkets
elindra SG Oh Wanda and to answer your question, the so called Cream Dory served in Singapore is usually Sutchi fillet and not the real John Dory
